So one needs to understand whether their upper body is longer than their lower body or their upper body is shorter than their lower body or both bodies are balanced. To understand this I use a double hand method , so what you have to do is depicted in the picture, if your hand covers the belly button then you have a short upper body and if it covers half of it then you have an average upper body and it the belly button comes completely under the second hand then you have a long upper body, this may not be the perfect way to find out, but it pretty much works. The last thing is to understand body fat distribution which means where your body stores fat you need to determine it. If you figure out which part of your body contains fat then it helps you to accommodate garments better and you could focus on cutting the fat from that specific area as it might disrupt your overall body shape and you might have difficulty styling even those outfits that would suit your body shape.
